Ford Parkway Bridge, over the Mississippi River

This is a Ramsey County/Hennepin County joint project. The City of Saint Paul is providing this site for general information only.

Ford Bridge Redecking 2002-2004
**A construction contract has been awarded to Edward Kramer and Sons**
**Construction began July 22, 2002**
The project includes complete replacement of the deck. The arches, main piers and spandrel columns will be repaired.
Construction is expected to begin the summer of 2002 and be completed at the end of 2004, a 3 year project.
The bridge will be open to a lane of traffic in each direction and one sidewalk will remain open. Ramsey County
and Hennepin County are the owners of the bridge.The counties are partnering with MNDOT and the cities of
Minneapolis and Saint Paul to complete the project. The estimated cost of the construction is $17 to 18 million.

Existing slab and beams removed New beam formed

North half of new deck was open to traffic on August 26, 2003. This deck presently accomodates east bound and west bound traffic. The south half of the new deck will open in the summer of 2004.
